it's been a wonderful, though strangely warm winter at home, developing new techniques and new work. it takes me quite a chunk of uninterrupted time to experiment and put ideas i've had simmering into action. look for new materials, forms, and variations on a theme in my work this year.

recently, i hosted my first ever weekend-apprentice. it was a great experience to share my home and studio with a friend who had never worked in metals before, but has considerable hand skills and a ridiculous work ethic. i am very happy to be passing on the things i've learned in the same way they were taught to me.
